Macro Synthetic Fibre Tuff are engineered copolymer fibres used for temperature and shrinkage crack control in concrete. Fibre Tuff is a replacement for crack control steel mesh/Conventional reinforcement in slab on grade applications.

Fibre Tuff synthetic fibre reinforcement system distributes tens of thousands of fibres throughout the concrete mix. When cracking occurs tensile forces are distributed at the exact point of failure, minimizing crack propagation as a result of temperature and shrinkage strains.

    Characteristics of Fibre Tuff
FibreTuff features a unique continually embossed surface, enabling the fibre to achieve maximum bond with the cement matrix for optimum performance.

Macro Structural Synthetic Fibres are highly resistant to acidic and alkaline environments, thus, they do not require concrete cover as protection against corrosion.

    Benefits of Using Fibre Tuff:
    • Significantly improves shrinkage and temperature crack control
    • Safer and lighter to handle than steel
    • Reduces carbon footprint
    • Reduces explosive spalling
    • Reduces plastic settlement
    • Reduces permeability
    • Unlike steel, doesn't stain concrete with rust marks
    • Potential for increase in joint spacing
    • Increases flexural strength
    • Increases impact resistant
    • Increases residual strength
    • Increases fatigue resistance
    • Increases tensile strength
    • Increases energy absorption
    • Increases ductility
    • Increases toughness
    • Increases post crack load capacity

    How to Mix
Fibres dosed in the batching plant is the most favorable option for homogeneously distributing fibres in the concrete. Fibres can easily be dosed from the see through opening in the batching plant.

If the option of batching plant is not available, following procedure must be adopted while
dosing the fibres in a transit mixer
    • Ensure the agitator is revolving at a maximum speed once it arrives at site.
    • Add fibre bag to the mix, don't just dump it, see that the fibre are dosed as if it is poured from a sieve.
    • Ensure the slump is >120 mm at the time of adding fibre.
    • Ensure each bag is allowed to mix for 45 secs. - 60 secs. before the next bag is added.
    • Let the transit mixer rotate at a speed of 14 revolutions - 15 revolutions per minute during fibre addition
    • Once the fibre is added, continue to rotate the mixer for 70 rotations at full speed or for minimum of 5 mins. - 6 mins.
